Roaster Note
This is a truly unique-tasting coffee, showcasing the distinct character of the Pacamara variety.
When hot, it opens up with a gentle herbal tone and a hint of roasted coconut shreds — complex yet comforting.
As it cools, the herbal note gracefully fades, giving way to sweet fruit tones reminiscent of stone fruits and tropical fruits.
The result is a mellow, pleasantly sweet, and delicious cup — layered and evolving with every sip.
A standout coffee that’s hard to forget.
Bean Info
La Luisa Estate is located in a small town called Bolívar in the southwest of Antioquia. The Vélez family has been growing coffee here since 1907, cultivating varieties such as Caturra, Castillo, Maragogipe, Pacamara, Tabi, Gesha, and Colombia. The current generation remains passionate and energetic about coffee, committed to producing high-quality, traceable green coffee beans.
Pacamara was little known at first—it was developed in 1958, but due to its low yield and the difficulty of processing its large beans, it remained under the radar for half a century. Then, in a stunning comeback, Pacamara won dual championships at the Cup of Excellence competitions in both Guatemala and Honduras, even sweeping the top three spots in El Salvador. In the years that followed, it consistently ranked among the top in major coffee competitions. It is now hailed as a rising star on par with Gesha.
Pacamara combines the floral and fruity notes of Pacas with the rich, rounded body of Maragogipe, making it a rare and naturally gifted variety. However, due to its genetic instability, it requires careful cultivation and skilled farming, and its yield has always remained relatively low.
